The Day of the Jackal

Pre-Production of planning Preliminary Task and Storyboarding

Pre-Production planning of our prelim task was very important as it would primarily dictate how our filming went and what shots we would use in our filming. We decided to use one of the media classes to film in, and use studio lights and office mise-en-scene to create an an audthentic looking office scene with good lighting. We also had to find actors to act out the dialouge in the film, we already had someone within our group willing to and we found a boy called Merhan who also offered to be in it. We planned the shoot day before we did it which was effective and helped us on the day I found.

Storyboarding was particularly important to plan before the shoot, creating a storyboard helped us plan our film out shot by shot so that on the day of filming we would have no confusion as to what we were shooting. Storyboards are used in most films and are very important to the effectiveness and smooth running of a shoot day, I found this in our Prelim task that the storyboard helped us a lot and saved a lot of time on the filming. Our storyboard is on the left.
