Presidents speech

For our thriller idea our Russian president is delivering a speech to audiences of Russia, we based our idea around President Kennedy's 1961 Inaugural Address in the layout and proceedings of the speech.

Although the speech would be in Russian with English subtitles we researched previous Presidents speeches and created the dialouge for the President to deliver and created enough dialouge to last through our opening. We will be using short cuts from the speech so we will not need much of the speech but we have created the whole one. The film is is about the threat of nuclear war between USA and the Soviet Union and much of the speech was taken from JFK's actual speech of the internet.

'My people of Russia, I speak today not of peace, but of the threat of the new face of war. In an age when great powers can maintain large and relatively invulnerable nuclear forces and refuse to surrender without resort to those forces. In an age when a single nuclear weapon contains almost ten times the explosive force delivered by all of the allied air forces in the Second World War. In sense in an age when the deadly poisons produced by a nuclear exchange would be carried by the wind and water and soil and seed to the far corners of the globe and to generations unborn. Today, good people, I fear that Russia is threatened by the age of these forces, and I am not prepared to give in to this fear, so I propose we stand up to the countries suppressing us, we stand up to those who impose on our dominance, and we strike back to regain our rightful place as the leading country of the new age. Russia, will be great again.'
